I’m sure he must hate sitting in front of the media and being asked about this player or that player but at this time of the year, that’s what’s on everyone’s lips.

Alex Neil spoke to the media today at his pre-Southampton press conference and fielded various questions about the sale of Martin Olsson and the potential sale of Robbie Brady.

‘There`s obviously been teams interested in Robbie but we`re not anywhere near a deal with anybody’ Neil told The Pink ‘Un

“I`m not going to go into the nuts and bolts of it but the point of it is there`s no deal for Robbie Brady anywhere near done.

“That`s what I`d say and you can pick the bones out of that whatever way you like.”

Neil explained that Brady will play in the team that faces Southampton tomorrow night in the FA Cup 3rd round replay, regardless of him then becoming cup tied. He also said that he’s not expecting to make any signings in the next couple of days either.

In terms of who will replace Martin Olsson in the long term there is a name that has surfaced tonight in the shape of Bradford City’s, James Meredith.

That story has appeared today on the Daily Mail via HITC Sport

Meredith is 28 and a two cap Australian international and he has 168 appearances for Bradford.

It’s not very exciting is it? It is however, the only left back link I’ve got for upyou at the moment.
