The young striker certainly isn’t lacking in confidence, saying ‘I work hard, I’ve got an eye for goal and I’m a winner’ Ched’s Up For Challenge

It refreshing to know that such a confident player is on our books, and I actually witnessed him first-hand this week.

Casually sipping on some vino rouge, I was quite annoyed to find that England’s U21 clash with Portugal wasn’t on Sky. Instead, I found Wales U21 taking on France U21, at a predictably empty Ninian Park.

I watched the young Welsh stars take the talented French apart with a mixture of flair, technique and sheer determination. At the forefront of their best moves, was young Ched Evans, who bagged a hat-trick.

His first goal was coolness personified, showing great touch before rounding the keeper to put his side in front. Two pressure penalties were slotted home to round off an impressive display.

Evans actually made his debut against Norwich in the League Cup, coming on as a substitute. Let’s hope that this opens up a new pool of talent to potentially showcase at Carrow Road.

What this means for Chrissy Martin is unclear, but he’ll certainly have to be on his toes because Evans doesn’t strike me as someone who wants to hang about…
