Norwich Are Linked To Two International Players While Farke Misses out

|

I’m currently on holiday and not always exactly aware of what time it is back in Blighty and I’m also keeping my head down with regards to the news there too. In case you’re wondering, I’m writing this around the pool and it’s about 30c and it’s not taking me long!

It’s almost impossible to avoid the news completely though and from what I understand we’re now set for a Halloween Brexit, so I expect that not much will happen until we’ve got about a month to go and then it will be panic, panic, panic all over again – great!

While I’ve been away though, I have noticed that Norwich City have been linked with a couple of players, presumably with one eye on the Premier League.

The first is Swedish International goalkeeper, Robin Olsen who was bought by Roma as a replacement for Liverpool bound Alisson Becker.

However, he’s struggled to fill those big boots and had a bit of a mare there this season. The 29 year old played well for his country in the 2018 World Cup and has made 35 appearances for Roma, keeping just 7 clean sheets.

There’s talk of a fee of “less than €15m” but if I’m honest, that still seems too rich for City.

In other news though, the agent of Greek International midfielder, Kostas Fortounis is reportedly in England discussing a transfer for his client with an unnamed club, believed to be Norwich City as reported by the EDP.

The Olympiakos Captain has 18 goals and 15 assists in 42 games this season for both club and country. He also bagged a couple against Burnley when the Greek giants defeated the Premier League side in the Europa League last August.

All signs point to this chap being a very good player indeed, just the sort that a newly promoted top flight English club might need.

I also noticed that despite winning all five games in March, that Daniel Farke didn’t win the Championship manager of the month award. That honour went to John Terry at Aston Villa, sorry I meant Dean Smith, whose team also won five in a row.

Look at this picture though, have you ever seen a photo of the winner of this award with his assistant before?! JT is literally priceless…
