Norwich City are anxiously awaiting news of the foot injury suffered by Nelson Oliveira that kept him out of last night’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle.

Neil says that Nelson will need a scan and if his worst fears are confirmed then he could be out for up to six weeks. Speaking after the game, this is what he told the EDP

“Nelson is a concern. He has a bruised foot,” said Neil. “It might be something to do with the bone, which is not good. If it is what I fear I think probably four to six weeks. He will need to get a scan. The form he has been in that would be a huge blow for us. Like the last time in this league, we had the same with Lewis Grabban who rolled his ankle and was out for six to eight weeks. That is not fortunate for us. Ivo couldn`t put any weight on his foot and Youssouf (Mulumbu) was struggling with his thigh. With Ivo (Pinto) it will be touch and go for this weekend.”

With Steven Naismith also struggling with a hamstring, just as he was becoming a very important player, coupled with the arrival and yet to show us anything form of Yanic Wildschut, we are certainly missing a few first choice players.

The loss of Oliveira for any length of time would be a particularly heavy blow because that just leaves Jerome and Lafferty and while Jerome is obviously very effective at this level, his replacement Lafferty, should anything happen to Cam, is not likely to do too much if he’s needed.

Oh dear, it never rains…
