Norwich City Sign Aberdeen Goalkeeper

|

Norwich City have signed goalkeeper, Archie Mair on a long term contract Aberdeen FC have announced.

The 18-year-old has left Pittodrie to join the Canaries and will link up with the City U23 Development Squad.

Mair is a product of the Dons’ youth academy and made nine appearances for Aberdeen’s Reserve Team last season. He is progressing nicely at international level too, having represented Scotland at U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels.

This new signing should allow the U23s current goalkeeper, Aston Oxborough to get out and get some league football experience. At 21-years-old, Gorleston boy Aston will be more than ready to get out there and start playing regularly.

Playing regularly is the only way to develop properly and taking a few cracks from some veteran League One or Two strikers won’t do him any harm at all – once the initial pain wears off!

There’s obviously no fee being disclosed but this is another example of forward planning for the future and expanding the academy’s influence over the future first team.

Nice work and welcome aboard, Archie.
