Norwich City Transfer Rumour Round Up

Rather than try and give you loads of separate reports about transfer rumours, I thought I`d give you it all in one write up – not forgetting it`s Sunday and both you and I have probably got better things to do.

So, you may well have read that Russell Martin seems set to join Glasgow Rangers on Loan for the rest of the season, with that loan potentially happening this coming week.

Steven Naismith is also in the news with news straight from the horse`s mouth, so to speak, in the player`s BBC blog, as reported by the Pink`Un

“The manager here has been honest with me,” he said. “It is just circumstance. I am an experienced player who signed when the club were in the Premier League and now things have changed.

“The manager has brought in players he believes in and feels they should be playing.

“I can`t say a bad word about him or Stuart Webber, the director of football. I see him every day; we have some good chats.

“This is just part of football. If something comes up that interests me and my family and suits Norwich then something might get done.

“But, when you take away the hustle and bustle of football, we are in such a privileged position. You have to enjoy it.

“There have been a lot of stories linking me with two of my old clubs, Kilmarnock and Rangers.

“I have not spoken to either of them, but I am not ruling out any clubs at this stage.”

Naismith played in Sunday`s 4-3 U23 win over Newcastle and he scored twice and got an assist in a 78 minute run out. Tristan Abrahams and Todd Cantwell got the other goals.

There`s also news from the Telegraph`s John Percy about Cameron Jerome, who, he says, could also leave this month.

Percy used his Twitter account @JPercyTelegraph to tweet the following on Saturday evening:

“Derby are back in for Norwich striker Cameron Jerome. Talks ongoing. Cardiff also interested. Will cost around £1.5m-2m #dcfc #ncfc #CardiffCity”

There was also talk a couple of days ago that Derby were also keen on Nelson Oliveira and had bid £8m but that is not the case say the Derby Telegraph

With Jerome another very big earner at Norwich, who are looking to trim the wage bill, a transfer would no doubt suit all parties. Cam has scored just one goal this season and with The Rams in a promotion chase, the player would probably be interested.

Norwich save his salary and Derby get a proven striker at this level for next to nothing.

With regard to Oliveira, he started at Bristol City but again looked out of sorts. His head looks elsewhere and unless he`s going to change his attitude, we may well be best off by moving him on now for the £8-10m he`s likely to be worth.

In terms of links to new players for Norwich, we appear to be linked with nobody on Sunday.
