Norwich City are closing in on a deal for Partick Thistle’s highly rated young winger, Aidan Fitzpatrick according to the Daily Record.

The 18-year-old had a breakout season with Partick in 2018/19, making 30 appearances in all competitions and scoring 7 goals.

The Daily Record report that a transfer fee of £350k plus a sell on clause and substantial add-ons has been thrashed out between the two clubs and that the player has been given permission to travel south for talks.

He is expected in Norfolk in the near future and all things being well, assuming an agreement is reached, the exciting young winger will join the Canaries’ U23 development side.

It’s noticeable that City are making the signing of young talent a priority in this transfer window, no doubt with one eye on the future should any of our first team youngsters become the subject of offers that the board can’t refuse.

This lad looks a very good prospect.
