Norwich City are close to signing Nigerian right back, Tyronne Ebuehi says the Press Association`s Nick Mashiter.

Nick has tweeted this morning (@nickmashiter) “Norwich are close to signing Nigeria international right-back Tyronne Ebuehi from Den Haag. He was at Carrow Road for the Chelsea game #ncfc.”

This is an update on a story that I reported last Thursday on Vital Norwich

The original source was a Dutch journalist, Jim van der Deijl who tweeted that the player was staying in a Norwich hotel room and it looks like that was spot on.

His contract is up at Den Haag in the summer, although he has had a contract extension offer from his current club.

The 22 year old has recently become a full Nigerian International which makes it sound as though he`s a decent player. With his contract up in the summer, you assume that he will have been bought at a snip, although Voetbal International report this could well be a deal for next summer when the lad will be a free agent.

If we`re signing a new right back, I wonder if Russell Martin is about to move on?

  • We were alwats in need of another right back just hope as before it indicates Pinto is off to pastures new.

  • We defo need cover at RB and yesterday when Pinto was down I was thinking ‘who can cover him’. This lad will not want to be on the bench though. Pinto is not always 100% but is captain. This lad can cover across the whole back four which is good.

    Martin will be off soon.

  • EDP is running an article. Russell Martin claims a loan move (destination unknown though) to Scotland is likely in Jan.

  • Talking about full backs… anyone still remembers ?Mitchell Dijks?, whom almost all Canaries fans called for the club to sign him permanently but Webber was saying ?he good but not fantastic?? Simply another astute decision.
