Norwich Defender Wanted By Bundesliga And Premier League Giants

|

Norwich City haven’t actually been relegated yet but speculation is already starting to build about potential transfers involving some of City’s brightest young stars. Among those is Ben Godfrey who is being linked with a £25m move to either Germany or the North East of England, depending on which report you read today.

Helpfully, Vital Norwich has both of those reports for you with the first one coming from The Sun, who are linking Godfrey with a move to the Bundesliga. Apparently both Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are both keen on a summer move.

The other report is being carried by the Daily Mail and reported by HITC Sport and it suggests that Newcastle United have also discussed the 22-year-old former York City and Norwich Academy product.

Godfrey has 25 appearances for Norwich this season and has Captained the England U21s as well as the Canaries in the absence of Alex Tettey and Grant Hanley due to injures. He has predominantly been City’s only fit central defender throughout the season and has acquitted himself well (at times) in the face of a steep learning curve against some of the world’s top forward players.

Norwich seem unlikely to need to sell anyone this summer but money talks and if the figures quoted are accurate, it would represent a huge profit on the deal which brought Ben to Norwich as an 18-year-old.
