Norwich City edged closer to promotion last night with an extraordinary last gasp equaliser from Mario Vrancic that puts the Canaries five points clear at the top of the table with just three games left to play.
Norwich took the lead with a Marco Stiepermann drive from the edge of the box on 20 minutes, only for Fernando Forestieri to equalise with a worldie from about thirty yards on 33 minutes.
The visitors then took the lead on 53 minutes with a scrambled goal from Steven Fletcher although there was a clear handball but nothing given. Tim Krul’s protestations being waved away by referee, Geoff Eltringham who showed Krul a yellow card for his troubles.
The Canaries looked to be heading for a confidence sapping defeat only for Super Mario Vrancic to stun the crowd 0f almost 27,000 with an unbelievable equalising free-kick in the seventh minute of the five minutes of added on time.
Carrow Road erupted with a noise arguably louder than against Reading last week and what looked like being a defeat turned into another confidence boosting shot in the arm.
Five points clear and promotion could come in any one of the last three games now.
