Norwich Have A Pukki Party In Sheffield As The Canaries Go Top

Norwich City had a Pukki party in Sheffield as they went to Hillsborough and laid their recent hoodoo to rest with a second half performance that simply blew Sheffield Wednesday away.

The Owls had started the day wanting to avoid a fourth straight defeat but ended it trudging off the pitch to a chorus of boos. The Canaries meanwhile left the pitch to wild applause from the travelling City faithful and chants of “Ei Ei Ei O, UP THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE WE GO…”

The second half performance was in stark contrast to the first, which had seen a woeful Mario Vrancic penalty saved on six minutes and was then only notable for a series of scrappy efforts from both sides.

As soon as Teemu Pukki opened the scoring with a poacher’s finish on 51 minutes though, Wednesday just fell apart as City added two more goals over the next nine minutes.

Dennis Srbeny then scored with his first touch to finish the rout on 80 minutes and send the Canaries to the top perch in the league.

Happy Days.
