Norwich In Pole Position To Sign Midfielder

|

Norwich City could be about to make another swoop north of the border for yet another promising midfielder.

According to a report in the Scottish Sun and reported here by the EDP,  Norwich are on the verge of signing Motherwell midfielder, Reece McAlear.

City made a move to sign another Motherwell midfielder, David Turnbull earlier in the summer but the player decided he’d rather go to Celtic before, bizarrely, he was suddenly found to be injured and needed an operation. As a result, he’s staying at Motherwell for the foreseeable future.

McAlear made his debut for Motherwell’s U20 side aged just 15 years old and now at age 19, having previously been linked with Leicester and West Ham, he looks to be coming to Norwich where he will join fellow summer signings, Daniel Adshead, Aidan Fitzpatrick, Rocky Bushiri, Rob Nizet and Charlie Gilmour as quality youth recruitment becomes a Canary priority.

Incidentally, former Arsenal defensive midfielder, Charlie Gilmour has signed on a season-long loan at Dutch second division side, Telstar.

All the best, Charlie.
