Norwich City are in talks with Chelsea about a season-long loan for midfielder, Ethan Ampadu, reports Nick Mashiter of the Press Association.

Nick also confirmed the link to Burnley central defender, Ben Gibson that we brought you earlier on Sunday and which you can read about below.
Ampadu is highly rated by Chelsea and the Blues seem happy to let the 19-year-old defensive midfielder, who can also play as a central defender, go out on loan again, in spite of a less than satisfactory time at RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga las season.
Ampadu made just seven first team appearances with a back injury stopping him from playing football after the re-start of the Bundesliga.
In other news, Liverpool’s pursuit of Jamal Lewis appears to have come to a swift end after the two clubs could not agree a fee, with Liverpool seeming to think that Jamal was worth only £8m upfront plus a further £2m in add-ons.
Liverpool and Norwich fail to reach an agreement for Jamal Lewis, with the Premier League champions close to signing Konstantinos Tsimikas as cover at left-back for €13m (£11.75m) from Olympiacos. Medical expected early next week.

Norwich don’t need to sell and are not going to be bullied into selling on the cheap, to do so would cause a drop in the value of the rest of their crop of high profile youngsters, like Ben Godfrey, Todd Cantwell and Max Aarons.
Liverpool seem to have gone for their back up option in Konstantinos Tsimikas from Olympiacos, leaving Jamal no doubt disappointed but hopefully understanding of the situation.
