Norwich Linked To German Keeper And A City Defender Could Be A Surprise Departure

|

Norwich City have been looking at goalkeeping options according to the Sun journalist, Alan Nixon.

That won’t be a surprise to anyone in the Canary Nation and last week, there was a slightly surprising link to Bournemouth’s Mark Travers, something you can read my thoughts on here.

I follow Nixon on Twitter and yesterday, I noted that he tweeted that there would be lots of Sunday transfer news for loads of different clubs, which he listed, including Norwich City.

Nixon suggests that one player that City are looking at is Holstein Kiel’s, Dominik Reimann.

The link is easy to make as Reimann was at Borussia Dortmund II from 2016-18, making 35 appearances and he will naturally be known to Daniel Farke.

In May 2018, Reimann moved from Dortmund II to Holstein Kiel, although he has not made a huge impact, having had to play second fiddle to Timon Weiner and making only one appearance in 2018/19, which came in the 5-1 win over Erzgebirge Aue on March 15th.

Another little nugget from Nixon concerns Grant Hanley and interest in him from his former club, Blackburn Rovers.

Hanley started the season as Captain but struggled with injury, losing his place in the side and then never getting it back on a regular basis. He made only 10 appearances in the 2018/19 campaign and was kept out by the form of Christoph Zimmermann, Timm Klose and Ben Godfrey.

Timm Klose also lost his starting place in the side due to injury in December and never got it back either. It was noticeable though that if Daniel Farke ever needed an extra defender to bring on as a late sub to help see a game out that it was always Klose, rather than Hanley that he turned to.
