Norwich Linked With Loan Move For Chelsea Defender

|

Norwich City are this morning being linked with a loan move for Chelsea starlet, Marc Guehi according to The Sun.

The Sun are reporting that both the Canaries and Southampton have contacted Chelsea about their highly rated young defender as both clubs look to add defensive strength in the hope of avoiding relegation.

There is also interest from the Championship in the form of Bristol City, Swansea and Nottingham Forest, who seem to be linked with every player that we are at the moment.

Addji Keaninkin Marc-Israel Guehi, to give him his full name, is 19-years-old and he joined Chelsea only this year from Cray Wanderers. The lad’s potential seems limitless with a string of England youth appearances under his belt, having represented England at U16, U17, U18, U19, U20 and now U21 levels.

He actually scored in the FIFA U17 World Cup Final back in 2017, when the Young Lions beat Spain to lift the trophy.

With the loss of yet another central defender to injury, Norwich now only have Christoph Zimmermann and Grant Hanley fit to face the festive run of games and I imagine we’ll all be keeping our fingers crossed that neither of them pick up a knock.

Ben Godfrey is likely to miss around six weeks with an LCL knee injury, by which time he will have missed seven Premier League games.
