Norwich Linked With Move For Chelsea Midfielder

|

Newly promoted Norwich City and Sheffield United are both weighing up moves for Chelsea starlet, Kasey Palmer according to The Sun (30th April page 50) and reported here by HITC Sport

You’ll probably remember this lad’s name from previous transfer rumours.

Palmer’s is a name that has been linked with Norwich over the last three or four transfer windows and especially since Stuart Webber joined the Canaries as Sporting Director. Palmer was on-loan at Huddersfield Town under Webber’s reign in the same role with the recently relegated Terriers.

The 22-year-old joined Blackburn Rovers on a season-long loan last summer but he was recalled by his parent club, Chelsea in January 2019 after only 10 starts for Rovers. Palmer is generally at his most effective when played as a number 10 but he was used out wide in a more unfamiliar role due to the presence of Bradley Dack.

Since moving to Bristol City in January, he has made 13 appearances and scored 3 goals for the Robins.

HITC Sport suggests that Norwich and Sheffield United will go head to head for Palmer’s signature, with the player accepting that he needs to move away from Stamford Bridge to get regular football with a fee of £4m being mentioned.

Kasey Palmer is clearly a very good young player, who has struggled with injury and not being able to find the right loan club in the past, so what’s the likelihood of this happening?

Well, I imagine that Palmer has spoken with Stuart Webber before and that might give City an edge if they are really interested. The fee involved should certainly be achievable and he fits the right age and demographics of players that we would be looking to sign.

So it’s a definite maybe.
