Norwich Make Offer For Nigerian Defensive Midfielder?

|

Norwich City have reportedly made an offer for Rotherham defensive midfielder/defender, Semi Ajayi according to reports in Nigeria from Sports247.ng

Ajayi is a product of the Charlton academy and joined the Arsenal academy in 2013, signing a two year deal. He made the Arsenal first team bench four times as an unused substitute before eventually joining Rotherham United in 2017, after several loan spells at other clubs.

In 2018/19, he made 48 appearances for the Millers and scored 8 goals including one against Norwich in the Canaries 2-1 away win.

With Rotherham having been relegated the player is set to receive offers according to this report, including one from Norwich City. He has made five appearances for Nigeria since his debut in 2018 and I remember him being a big, tough player when Rotherham came to Carrow Road.

What’s the likelihood of this happening, then?

Well, having just been relegated, Rotherham will need to tighten their belts a little, which is, of course, nothing new for them. If Norwich really do want him then I would imagine that his current club wouldn’t be able to hold onto him if he wants to leave and a reasonable offer comes in.
