Norwich Reject £5m Pritchard Offer

Norwich City have rejected an opening £5m offer from Huddersfield Town for Alex Pritchard, according to the EDP

Last week, the tabloid media, led by the Mirror reported that City had turned down two offers for the talented midfielder but here is the first confirmation of a bid from a local source.

Pritchard cost the Canaries a reported £8.5m from Spurs eighteen months ago and it`s hard to see how his value has gone down in the current market and that`s before you take into account his performances. His value is certainly someways North of that original £8.5m.

Clearly, Huddersfield are just chancing their arm and hoping that Norwich`s financial situation, of which much has been written, is bad enough to let Pritchard go for a song.

Every player has a price but I`d be surprised if Huddersfield could afford him in this window. I`d estimate he`d be worth more than Jacob Murphy was sold for last summer (£12m) and that at least £15m would have to be on the table.

It would still be a big gamble for Huddersfield to take at this time and his performance against Chelsea will have probably added a few quid anyway.
