According to Marca, Spain’s biggest sporting paper, Norwich City sent a scout to watch the recent La Liga game between Las Palmas and Deportivo.
The Tenerife side have enjoyed a decent second half of the season and plenty of their players have impressed. It is reported scouts from Palmero, Fiorentina, Genoa, Celta, Villarreal, and Sevilla were also at the game, with Marca suggesting Roque Mesa could be a transfer target for both English and Italian clubs.
Marca say Roque Mesa has been in brilliant form this season, and Las Palmas are expecting offers for him in the summer, although the player has been declared ‘not for sale’ as Las Palmas are desperate to keep him beyond summer.
Mesa is a midfield player with plenty of pace, is renowned for his high work rate and at age 26, he is the perfect age. With one year left on his current contract he could be ripe for a move.
Of course, it’s not certain who the target actually was and with Tana, Dani Castellano, Jonathan Viera and David Simón all having played well of late, it could be anyone.
