Norwich City are reportedly set to sign striker Pierre Fonkeu according to the Pink ‘Un

The 19 year old former Club Brugge striker has been on trial with the Canaries and was part of the U23 squad that went to Germany along with fellow trialists Adam Philips and Will Wright.

Phillips has also reportedly agreed a deal to join City, leaving only the future of Hitchin centre back, Wright as still being unknown.

Fonkeu scored in the win over SC Rot-WeiƟ Oberhausen whilst on tour and clearly did enough to impress during the training camp.

It seems likely that both Fonkeu and Phillips will initially start life at Norwich with the U23 Development Squad with it then being up to them to press for a first team squad place.

  • Well that answered a previous question. Not the striker people have been calling for though I fancy.

  • UPDATE: The third triallist who went to Germany with the U23s, Will Wright, has returned to Hitchin Town and was part of the side that beat an Arsenal XI on Wednesday night. Looks like he’s dipped out…
