Norwich City have announced their seventh signing of the summer in the form of Marcel Franke via canaries.co.uk
The 24 year old central defender is a 6`4″ mountain of a man who has joined the Canaries from Bundesliga 2 side, Greuther Furth for an undisclosed fee on a three year deal with the option of a further year.
He is a product of Dynamo Dresden`s youth academy and made his debut for the first team there in 2010. In 2013, the lad joined Hallescher FC, making 68 appearances and scoring 6 goals before he joined Greuther Furth in 2015.
Franke told Norwich City TV: “It`s a big club in England with a great stadium and amazing supporters.
“It was an easy step for me. I had good conversations with the coach and he convinced me Norwich was the right club.
“I want to play football with the team so I`m looking forward to this.’
Head Coach Daniel Farke added: ‘We were searching for some improvements in defence so I`m happy.
‘He`s a really solid defender but also solid at building up our game. Marcel is a young guy at just 24 so has lots of potential but is also pretty experienced.
‘I`m really glad to bring in a centre-back with this quality. He`s the perfect fit for our squad.’
Welcome to Norwich, Marcel.
