Norwich City have announced the signing of Sean Raggett from Lincoln City for an undisclosed fee on the club`s official site
The 24 year old centre back has been linked with Norwich all summer but news of the prospective deal actually happening came to light last night.
Raggett has signed a three year deal and will initially be loaned back to Lincoln until January.
Speaking to Norwich City TV, Raggett said: ‘I`m delighted to be here as it`s a massive move for me.
‘It`s a big opportunity in my career and I`m really excited. There`s been a lot of speculation but I`ve just focused on my football and I`m really pleased it`s come off.
‘Norwich is a huge club and it was a chance I couldn`t turn down. I`ve had a great time at Lincoln and it will be good to go back for the first few months of the season and thank them for what they`ve done for me.’
Head Coach Daniel Farke added: ‘Sean is a good guy with a lot of potential.
‘He is a good character and very strong in the air. We will give him the time to improve as a player.
‘As part of his development, Sean will return to Lincoln on loan until January.’
I assume that the idea behind the loan back is to help sweeten the deal for newly promoted to the football league, Lincoln and then Norwich will see where they are come January as to whether he is needed at Carrow Road or not. I`d expect that to depend on injuries and transfers both in and out. In the meantime, League Two football won’t do him any harm.
Welcome to Norwich, Sean.
