Striker, Tristan Abrahams has joined Exeter City On Loan for the 2018/19 season, Norwich City have announced.

The 19 year old forward joined Norwich last summer from Leyton Orient and scored 9 goals in 27 games for the Canaries’ U23 Development Squad last season.

There were times last season when we were short of numbers, striker wise and ir was a bit of surprise when Daniel Farke didn’t name either Abrahams or Pierre Fonkeu on the substitutes’ bench for the first team.

I seem to remember a bit of clamouring from some of the Vital Norwich forum regulars, including me, for this to happen but I’ve come to the conclusion that if he’s going out on loan to Exeter (no offence, you Grecians) then I’d doubt he’s going to cut the mustard at Championship level for Norwich at the moment.

Thats not me just rubbishing his career and ending it right there, more a touch of realism to the situation, I think.

Having said that, he’s only 19 and could easily go on and develop from here, after all, that’s what these sort of loan moves are all about. We’ll keep an eye on him and see how it turns out.

Good luck for the season, Tristan.

  • I don’t think he helped himself last season when he basically left his loan (that the club wanted him to complete). Saying that he wasn’t playing. He is another that the club wanted to sign and I have to wonder why as we never use him. Last season when it was clear the club was going nowhere and Oli and Srbeny weren’t scoring he should have been given a match or two.

Anyway still young and if he scores at Exeter he could come back and get in the team
