Norwich Striker Set For Loan Move

Norwich City U23 striker, Tyrese Omotoye could be set for a loan move to Swindon Town with the Robins awaiting the green light from the Canaries to sign the promising young forward next week.

This information is being reported in The Sun on Sunday 24/1/21 page 59 and detailed here by The72.co.uk.

Swindon are involved in the League One relegation battle, currently sitting second bottom on 21 points. It’s very tight down there though with just one win potentially propelling them up to 18th place.

Robins’ manager, John Sheridan is reportedly looking for striker options this month/week and contact has supposedly been made with Norwich about Omotoye. The recent recall of Sebastian Soto from his loan in Holland at second tier Telstar suggests to me that he will replace Tyrese in the U23s, allowing Tyrese to get some EFL experience.

Omotoye has been a regular feature of the Canaries’ bench in recent weeks, as cover for the injured Adam Idah and Teemu Pukki. With Jordan Hugill now injured as well, it remains to be seen if Pukki and Idah can return to full fitness in time to allow Omotoye a great chance to play regular football. As suggested by journalist, Alan Nixon:

Fingers crossed all round.
