Reported Norwich City target, Ben Marshall would prefer a move to Millwall Sky Sports understands.
According to Sky Sports, Millwall have made a club record bid of £1.25m for Marshall, who spent the second half of last season on loan with the Lions from Wolves. He made 17 appearances and scored 3 goals, while also providing 6 assists.
The 27-year-old winger made a big impact at The Den and was instrumental in the Lions’ late playoff challenge. Marshall is a name that was first mentioned a few days ago, with journalist Alan Nixon tweeting on Sunday that Norwich were “working hard” on deals for Marshall, Striker Jordan Rhodes and that City had also asked about Liverpool’s young winger, Harry Wilson.
The quoted £1.25m bid from Millwall is not a huge amount of money in the current climate, but it is a considerable outlay for Millwall and the Canaries too. Remarkably, Millwall’s current transfer record is £800k and dates back to 1989, when they bought Paul Goddard (remember him?) from Derby.
Meanwhile, newly promoted Wigan are keen on a quick reunion with Yanic Wildschut, who is again seemingly surplus to requirements in Daniel Farke’s squad.
The Latics are looking for attacking players according to the Wigan Post, as reported by the EDP.
A loan deal seems to be their preferred option, with Wigan reportedly prepared to pay a large portion of Yanic’s sizeable weekly salary. If he’s really not wanted by Farke, then this could be a good option to save a bit of cash.
