Norwich To Sign Everton Youngster

|

Norwich City are on the verge of signing midfielder, Tom Scully from Everton according to the Liverpool Echo.

I say from Everton but he is among a group of eight players released by the Toffees at the season’s end and therefore free to find a new club for themselves.

Scully is 18 years old and is a central midfielder. He has Captained the Everton U18s side all season, only to find himself released, which is a rather odd situation.

Striker, Stephen Duke-McKenna, who was part of the first-team squad for December’s Europa League match against Apollon Limassol, is another who has also not had his contract renewed.

Getting back to Scully though, I would imagine that he will move straight into the Academy, allowing the club to fully assess him and see where he sits right now.

As we saw with Jamal Lewis last season, youth is no barrier to Daniel Farke’s thinking, which is one of the reasons he was brought to the club.

The Academy is having a multi-million-pound overhaul as the club look to the future with the intent of producing a conveyor belt of talent capable of first-team football.
