Norwich look to have won the signature of former Liverpool Academy star, Adam Phillips according to the Liverpool Echo

The Echo understands that 19 year old Phillips will initially join the U23 Development squad before looking to make his mark in the first team squad.

Widely lauded as a successor to Steven Gerrard’s passing abilities. Phillips travelled to Germany with Norwich last week after being released by Liverpool at the end of the season. He had suffered with back injury problems, which coupled with a surplus of young midfielders, led to his release.

He seems to have all the ability in the world, according to various reports I’ve read, so fingers crossed he can stay injury free and make his mark here. It seems that Stuart Webber was influential in the signing, having known Phillips from his time with the Liverpool Academy.

  • Adam Phillips,a quality player who will add extra depth to the overall squad.Given time and the good coaching he will receive he will develop into an excellent player at this level.Who knows,Liverpool may have erred in judgement in letting this home grown talent slip from their grasp, hopefully assisting Norwich sometime in the not too distant future.
