Non-League Horley Town’s hot shot striker Ashley Nadesan will have a trial with Norwich City says his agent.
Nadesan has scored 50 goals this season in the ninth tier of English football, a tally that has attracted plenty of admirers from the top four leagues, including Norwich. We’ve been following this story for a couple of months now and the lad’s agent says he will link up with Norwich next week.
He has been on trial with Millwall last week and scored in The Lions’ U21s 4-2 win over Barnsley on Monday. He also travelled with the first team who were beaten 3-0 by Birmingham at the weekend.
Lions boss Neil Harris, a former non-league striker himself, said: ‘We are giving him the opportunity to be around a professional environment and see how he gets on. That is all.”
Nadesan’s agent Darren Lewis said his charge was being watched by a whole host of clubs, and will link up with Norwich next week.
‘There is a whole queue of clubs looking at him – he is at Norwich next week; there is interest from Cambridge plus an open invitation from Crawley; and Brighton are watching him closely,’ Lewis told South London Today.
The paper report that Nadesan currently works as a supervisor for McDonalds and earns £200 pw plus a £30 match fee when he plays for Horley.
Lewis added: ‘He has movement, speed and technique and is 6ft 2in tall.
‘But he is not just a striker – he has also had to play for Horley in midfield, out wide and as a centre-back in some games.
‘The reason people have compared him to Jamie Vardy is because he is very hard to track. Defenders can`t keep tabs on him.
‘I would rather tie something up in the next 10 weeks than leaving him to the lottery of pre-season, when lots of players will be on trial. It is my job to have him secure at a club before then.’
