Norwich City have turned down an £8m offer from Bournemouth for Lewis Grabban, reports HITC Sport.
The story says that HITC understands the bid consisted of an initial £7m plus a further £1m in add-ons.
HITC also say that Grabban has made it clear that he wants out of Norwich and that Bournemouth have been in dialogue with Norwich for some time. Having rejected this offer, Norwich have apparently told the Cherries to increase their offer.
I have to say, that if true, it’s surprising. If we sold him for £7m then we’d more than double our money. I wonder if the only issue is selling to a near rival? Apparently, Lewis Grabban and Kyle Lafferty mugs are in the half price sale at the Canary Stores.
Watching Sky Sports News at lunchtime, they reported that City are looking to sign Steven Naismith, Dwight Gayle and are still interested in Benik Afobe.
Naismith hasn’t figured in the last two Everyon squads but an injury to Romelu Lukaku last night could be a problem, let’s hope not.
As far as Gayle goes, he’s not my ideal forward and doesn’t really seem to fit the lone striker role. Afobe of course would be a good signing although just yesterday, Wolves said they still hadn’t had any offers for the former Arsenal striker.
