Norwich City booked their place in the quarter finals of the U18s FA Youth Cup after staging a sensational comeback against Middlesbrough at Carrow Road on Wednesday night.
Having taken an early lead, through Todd Cantwell’s 7th minute penalty, the young Canaries found themselves 1-3 down at half time and it got worse after the break as ‘Boro further extended their lead to make it 1-4.
That was the score with 69 minutes on the clock when Benny Ashley-Seal reduced the arrears. Glenn Middleton scored with a cool finish before Louis Ramsey scored a tremendous volley with just three minutes left of normal time to level the scores at 4-4.
Extra time ensued and late in the first half a Tood Cantwell goal was the winner for City. A staggering comeback to see Norwich into the quarter finals of the competition the club won in 2013.
Norwich will play their quarter final against Manchester City at the Etihad stadium at a date to be determined.
