Norwich City`s U21 Development side suffered another heavy defeat, this time at the hands of Chelsea to the tune of 5-0 on Wednesday night.
Playing at Aldershot`s EBB Stadium on a less than perfect surface, Dmitri Halajko`s side conceded their first goal after just 4 minutes when Reece Mitchell easily scored past a stranded Jake Kean. The lead was doubled on 11 minutes by Jordan Houghton after City failed to deal with a corner.
The visitors managed to keep things tighter until half time and even managed to play a bit themselves, although Chelsea could also have increased their lead before the break.
On 56 minutes, the game was up when new signing Ben Godfrey was dispossessed in the midfield and Kasey Palmer tapped the ball into an empty net after Abraham`s shot bounced back to him off a post.
Chelsea scored twice more before the end through Conroy and Tomori and could easily have scored more but for some good defending and Jake Kean.
Having been beaten 7-0 last time out by Manchester United, this was another sobering experience for the Development side who are playing some very young players at the moment as more “senior” youngsters such as Jamar Loza, Louis Thompson and the Murphy twins are all out on loan.
