Norwich v Stoke – Rate The Players

|

Rate The Players returns, giving you the chance to rate the Canaries in the disappointing 0-1 defeat at the hands of Stoke City.

Stoke came, where comprehensively outplayed, couldn’t score but still ended up winning 1-0 courtesy of an own goal from Timm Klose.

I’m not going to say that Norwich deserved to win because they clearly didn’t do enough at the sharp end to score a goal or two of their own. What I would say though is that losing in that manner after such a dominant display in the other two thirds of the pitch didn’t warrant a defeat.

Hey ho though, the points went to Stoke but if we keep playing at that level, the victories will come again.

The sponsors’ man of the match award went to Todd Cantwell and Todd did have a very good game. Most of what he did was good, interspersed with a few misplaced passes, and generally, especially in the second half, he showed some excellent touches. He is obviously a young lad but he’s got bags of potential and has fully deserved his run in the team of late.

In my opinion though, I would’ve gone for Mo Leitner. I thought Mo had another excellent game and although most of his passes were short, quick and accurate, he also produced some great set pieces and some terrific long passes too. One sticks out for me that he played with his left foot, over the top to Teemu Pukki in the first half. Mo is really hitting some high notes now and looking like an excellent acquisition.

As ever, it’s now your turn. Light up the stars (or not) and get rating.
