Norwich v Villa – The Officials

|

Norwich City take on Aston Villa on Saturday lunchtime (12 noon ko) in a game that`s important to one side at least.

Villa are still chasing automatic promotion although it looks likely to me that the Play-Offs are their likely destination this season.

Momentum is all important for the play offs and you need to maintain it for those (hopefully) three massive games.

I`ll provide you with a bit more information about the game beforehand but in the meantime, the FA have announced the officials for this match.

Referee: PETER BANKES

Assistant Referees: Daniel Leach and Timothy Wood

Fourth Official: Charles Breakspear

A quick check of the stats tells me that Mr Bankes has refereed 36 Sky Bet Championship Games this season, handing out 126 yellow cards, which is an average of 3.5 per game.

He has also flourished 8 red cards.

Interestingly, Bankes has only officiated over one match for the Canaries this season, the 1-2 home defeat at the hands of Derby County in October, when he showed 4 yellow cards – just about his average.

It`s been seven games since Mr Bankes last showed a red card, fingers crossed he makes it through his next 90 minutes without the need to show another.
