I don’t expect that there will be many members of the Canary nation disagreeing with me but that win, away at Forest who were previously unbeaten in 13 home games and only beaten once previously this season, was impressive. Seriously impressive.
What happens next? Well, to my mind, I think we are looking at a team that appear genuinely capable of a promotion tilt this season.
There, I’ve said it. I don’t want to jinx anything but I can’t come to any other conclusion as I write this. Thirteen games in and we have 21 points, which ain’t too shabby.
The only nagging concern I do have is that the league, as ever, is so ridiculously close. Our next visitors, Aston Villa, are sitting in 13th place but on 18 points and Bolton in 18th have 16 points.
It’s nuts.
Anyway, I haven’t done a round up of the old social media for a while, so here’s the best of it and I must say, the Forest fans were pretty magnanimous in defeat which is unusual in our league.
1-0 to Forest but not a normal Karanka performance. Norwich have been allowed 4 shots in the area in the first half, and as many again outside the area. All 4 of Forest’s shots have come inside the area (very Karanka-esq)

No team has taken more shots against Forest at the City Ground so far this season than Norwich – 19.

Not many people doubting Farke now and rightly so. We had to go through the usual teething problems any club does if they make drastic changes to personnel and style, but now we’ve got a young, vibrant team who are expressing themselves and have plenty of room to grow. 😍 #ncfc

Massive result for #ncfc, not many teams will get anything at Forest! What a season Klose is having – immense at both ends! His experience is pivotal in such a young team
— Andy Ward (@AndyWardITV) October 20, 2018
Timm Klose now has 9 goals in 99 games for Norwich City.
He's the first Canaries defender to:
Score two goals in a game since Russell Martin against Man City in December 2012
Score in back-to-back away games since Gary Doherty in December 2009#ncfc pic.twitter.com/7vjIYlVPLD

By full time Leitner attempted 93 passes, 28 more than any other Norwich player and 32 more than any Forest player. He made 4 ‘key passes’ and had an 85% pass completion rate.

Great win away at Forest for @NorwichCityFC

HUGE cheer for Farke as he emerges through his players to thank the away fans, almost looks a bit emotional as he pulls the zip up on his coat, one VERY happy German coach – and rightly so. Best result of the season yet? Quite possibly #NCFC

What a difference a few weeks can make. It seemed time was ebbing away from Farke, yet he has discovered a formula and harnessed some genuine momentum. More of that please, boss. #ncfc https://t.co/NrUFwWVKF1

Dear Ipswich Town
Please do not sack Paul Hurst we think he is great
A well wisher #ncfc— ValCanary#NCFC (@vallyrogNCFC) October 20, 2018
City are level! A great free-kick from Leitner finds Klose who scores with a close glancing header. Let's go Norwich! #ncfc

FT: #itfc 0 #QPR 2 (Gerken OG 13, Hemed pen 45+)
That was awful. Another dire display post international break. Two dreadful goals conceded and zero identity/threat.
Sarcastic cheers during game. Boos at end. Mood turning inside PR.
Back at bottom of table.

Massive respect to #nffc fans for the lack of Twitter saltiness tonight… we’re simply not used to this

We came for the 3 points! Great support again on to Tuesday 💛💚 @NorwichCityFC pic.twitter.com/mPifoy5s7f

It felt like a big Championship game at a sold-out City Ground and that was a big Championship win. I’ll admit I was worried after 10 mins but #NCFC have some proper character this season. Great stuff.
— Chris Goreham (@CGoreham) October 20, 2018
Would say that #ncfc comfortably best side we’ve played this season. Played some excellent stuff. The 36 for them looks a cracking player. #NFFC
— Warren (@warrenallsworth) October 20, 2018
Best team to play at our place this year. Can’t really complain at the result IMO. #NFFC #NCFC
— Daniel Brace (@BraceDaniel) October 20, 2018
Poor second half by #nffc, crowd a little reactive rather than proactive but can understand it. Impressed by #ncfc. High energy, tempo, pressed to win the ball back quickly. Tettey outstanding, win ever second ball. Deserved win. We go again with two tricky away games.
