Norwich Youngster Closes On New Deal To Ward Off Premier League Interest

|

Max Aarons is on the verge of signing a new long term deal at Norwich City to ward off some serious Premier League interest reports Press Association journalist, Nick Mashiter.

Using his Twitter account, on the day that new deals for Jamal Lewis and Louis Thompson have been announced, Nick had the following to say.

Nick Mashiter has a proven track record where Norwich City are concerned, so there is no reason to dispute anything that he says. As has often been written on social media, “If Nick Mashiter says it, then it’s happening.”

This is a very welcome turn of events and by that, I don’t just mean giving Max Aarons a new contract. The club’s policy, and that must come from Sporting Director Stuart Webber, of extending the contracts of it’s best young players has already paid dividends with the recent high fees received for James Maddison and Josh Murphy and Jacob Murphy.

Without Premier League money, the club will depend on producing great young players to survive even and be able to compete. These long deals don’t stop the players being sold but they do mean a large fee will have to be paid should another club want them.

It’s very sensible stuff and it also shows that these young lads are happy and want to sign the deals and stay with a Head Coach who is giving them their chance, all they have to do is take it.
