There’s no smoke without fire, they say but ‘they’ say a lot of things.

Anyway, after playing at Lowestoft on Saturday, it looks as though Nelson Oliveira will stay. Try telling that to the Reading Chronicle

The Chronicle reckon that an £8m bid for Oliveira from the Royals has been accepted by Norwich – according to ‘sources close to the club.’

Daniel Farke was fairly noncommittal on the subject of transfers and on Oliveira in particular, when he spoke after the game to the press BUT there’s no smoke without fire or so they say.

  • It would seem odd to play a guy you’re about to sell. But we are talking about Norwich. As for what the coach is saying ……… He likes every one, they are all pretty good, and he likes working with them. The three lines are already rhetoric. His early intervid suggested a far better command of the language.

  • Would seem strange to play him yesterday and then sell. Hope this is all just nonsense and I get the feeling the Chronicle’s piece could be based on the HITC Sport piece from Friday night. £8m would seem too cheap for a player with 3 yrs on his contract that did so well last season and most importantly is a striker. Goals = big fees.

  • If he did go we would be very short of attackers. In my mind we are still light weight up top, not to mention in defence. Right now I see Pinto and Toffolo as full backs with no cover at all. And I’m still not at all sure about centre back either
