Norwich City winger, Anthony Pilkington has been talking to the media ahead of four end of season friendlies that The Republic of Ireland will be playing as they provide the opposition for World Cup qualifiers, Turkey, Italy, Costa Rica and Portugal.
Pilkington is part of Martin O’Neill’s squad and said of his future at Norwich City:
‘I don’t know, I don’t know. I wasn’t really in the manager’s plans towards the end of the season, so I’ll have to wait and see.
‘All I’m concentrating on now is doing well for Ireland, doing well for the country, putting that to the back of my mind and then dealing with that after the friendlies.
‘I am just concentrating on playing for the country and doing well through the summer, and I will have to deal with that when I get back.’
Pilks has one year left on his contract after City exercised an option for a further year but that was done by Chris Hughton and it’s not known what Adams thinks of Pilkington or how or if the lad will fit into his plans.
He has suffered from two injury plagued seasons in his three years at Norwich but on his day, when fit, he is a very good player.
Another thing for Neil Adams to add to his list of things to do.
