Yesterday’s FA Cup First Round draw has left fans, journalists and Norwich City officials alike reaching for Wikipedia after the Canaries were drawn away to Paulton Rovers.

According to Wikipedia, the club were formed in 1881 and are based in a small village outside of Bristol.

Rovers are currently 11th in the Southern Football League Division One South and West and are the lowest ranked team left in the competition, and progressed to the first round thanks to a 3-0 win against Chippenham Town.

Speaking to canaries.co.uk after the draw, City boss Paul Lambert said:

‘We don’t know very much about Paulton Rovers so we’ll be doing our homework and preparing for the cup tie as we would any game in the league or the cup.

‘If you take people for granted in this competition you tend to get punished for it, so we will make sure we go into the game properly prepared.’
