Preston v Norwich Team News

|

Norwich City travel to Deepdale this weekend to take on Preston North End with some good news and some bad news, as far as team news is concerned.

First, the good news and that is that Onel Hernandez is back from his hamstring troubles and available for selection again.

Speaking to the assembled media at his usual pre-match presser at Colney, Daniel Farke explained a bit more about the flying winger’s condition via canaries.co.uk

Hernandez has been back in training since Tuesday but due to not having played since the 3-2 win over Reading last month, is likely to start from the bench and be used as an impact substitute as and when required.

Harrison Reed has recovered from a back niggle and Marco Stiepermann produced a classy performance for the U23s last weekend, which helped put him back into first-team contention. However, Farke pointed out that there is plenty of left-sided competition at the moment, so might not be used in this squad, giving him more time to get back to 100% fitness.

Finally, in terms of good news, Tom Trybull has been back in training since Wednesday but this game will obviously come too soon for him. Leeds next week could be an option though, Farke hinted.

Now we move onto the bad news, which isn’t horrendous and sees Christoph Zimmermann out with a glute injury. He’ll miss this match but will hopefully return to training in the week.
