Reading To Pose A Serious Threat To Norwich As Farke Provides More Good News

|

Norwich City return to action, yet again, on Wednesday night when they visit high flying Reading. The early season pace setters had a little rocky spell but of late, they’ve got back to winning ways of late and pose a serious threat to the league leading Canaries.

As ever, Daniel Farke gave a pre-match video press conference on Tuesday afternoon and as ever, Vital Norwich forum stalwart, FC Bears was watching to give his take on what was said…

Kieran Dowell will be a reliable option soon but he’s not yet ready.

Tim Krul and Lukas Rupp will not be back for the Reading game but they’re not far away. They are both back training on Thursday and maybe in contention for weekend.

DF is very happy with Michael McGovern as his number 1 for the moment.

DF on Emi Buendia: “He lost that cutting edge to score goals in the Premier League, but right now he is scoring from game to game, his mindset is right, he is working for the team.” Same for Teemu, investing in the team and working to get into positions is paying dividends for both.

Xavi Quintilla is now doing individual training. He is not too far away from being involved, but he is still self isolating, after returning from Spain. He will be able to return to team training tomorrow but that will still not be possible for him.

Onel Hernandez will return to team training in January.

DF wants more clean sheets but he is very happy with how his central defenders have been playing this season.

I think we might see Kenny McLean and Todd Cantwell return to the XI tomorrow to help some of the tired legs. Maybe Alex Tettey and Mario Vrancic will sit this one out, starting on the bench.

We have lacked a little something extra in the number 10 position this season and perhaps playing Todd there might be the answer. Kieran Dowell is another great option to play there once he’s fit again, which looks like being sooner rather than later.
