Reading v Norwich: The Vital Statistics

Two wins in a row and now undefeated in their last three, Norwich City look to be back on track. Obviously I’ve been supporting the Glorious Canaries for far too long to be thinking that we’ve turned a corner. One swallow does not a summer make and neither do two swallows.

Having said all that though, it’s now seven points from nine and we are moving in the right direction. I can hardly believe it after our poor start to the season but we are now sitting in 12th place on 11 points. Incredibly, that is only 2 points off the top six and 6 points behind second placed Middlesbrough.

All this underlines how tight the Championship is and also how competitive it is. As we saw last night, a poor team like Reading, and let’s be honest they were poor, can get back into a game with a goal at any moment. Fortunately, last night City were able to strike back immediately and do enough to win the game.

Reading came back into the match in the second half, presumably after a half time rocket from Paul Clement because they were out very early, and arguably deserved their goal even if the manner of it didn’t reflect brilliantly on the City defensive actions.

The fact that the Canaries were able to seize the initiative back again and then (fairly) comfortably see the game out was very welcome.

Anyway, here’s the all important Vital statistics.
