News this evening that Norwich City have reportedly had a bid accepted for Birmingham City’s Nathan Redmond.

Redmond has played 62 times for The Blues after being given his debut by our very own Chris Hughton during his time as Birmingham’s manager. He was one of the very few players that emerged from the recent England U21 debacle and is widely accepted as being one of English football’s brightest prospects.

Lee Clark spoke to the media earlier about the situation:
“The truth, me being transparent and not speaking out of line, is that there are six to eight Premier League clubs interested in Nathan,” he told the Birmingham Mail. “That`s in various different ways. Sometimes you get a call from an agent, then get a call from the player`s agent, sometimes you get an inquiry from a fellow manager.

“Now what we have had are three bids, two that have been accepted and one that hasn`t been accepted. Now it`s up to Nathan if he wants to speak to those two clubs and see if it`s right for him. Unfortunately that`s where we are at the moment and we have just got to get on with it.”

Intersting stuff, it is believed that Norwich are one of the clubs to have a bid accepted and fingers crossed that ‘The Hughton Factor’ will help from this point onwards.
