Refreshing New Sponsor For Norwich City’s Barclay Stand

|

In a piece of rather refreshing (if you’ll pardon the pun) news, Norwich City have announced a new sponsor for the Barclay Stand in the shape of Woodforde’s Brewery.

The previous deal with bookmakers, Coral had run out and I heard a while back that it wasn’t being renewed. The new sponsor is a local firm from Woodbastwick and having a local business involved always tends to bring a bit of a feel good factor to all involved.

The famous stand will now be known as The Barclay Stand sponsored by Woodfordes. As an obvious byproduct of the new deal, Wherry Amber Ale and Norada Pale Ale will be available throughout all Carrow Road’s hospitality lounges and concourse kiosks.

There has been a bit of criticism towards the club in the last couple of years, after first, the deal with Coral and then the main shirt sponsor deal with LeoVegas.

Modern sport and betting seem to go hand in hand these days, at least that’s what the betting companies would have you believe. However, gambling has a detrimental effect on many people’s lives and most people I know seem to know someone who has been adversely affected by gambling.

That makes this new deal even more refreshing, ahem, sorry.
