A couple of young Liverpool players that have been linked with Norwich City this summer are being talked about in the media again today.
Remi Matthews is currently being given the chance to stake his claim for the number one shirt on City’s training camp in Germany, over three friendly matches culminating with this evening’s match against Wolfsburg.
There have though, been nagging links to Liverpool Keeper, Danny Ward all through the summer but those look like disappearing from now onwards with the news that Liverpool have accepted an offer from Leicester City.
#lcfc have agreed a fee with Liverpool for goalkeeper Danny Ward. Coming in as competition for Kasper Schmeichel, not as a replacement. Ward set to meet with Leicester in next 24-48 hours #llfc

Meanwhile, 18 year old striker, Ben Woodburn has also been linked with the Canaries over the last few weeks but seems set to travel with the Reds on their pre-season tour of the USA, as Jurgen Klopp continues to assess the merits of various young players in his squad.
Understand Ben Woodburn is likely to travel with #LFC on their US tour despite loan interest (Norwich/Sheffield Utd).
Ojo, Kent and Chirivella all have Championship interest too, but as yet no agreements reached.

The loan window is open until Friday 31st August, so there’s no rush to get anything done for Liverpool. Their main priority will be to ensure game time for any of their youngsters that go out on loan, rather than have them sitting on a bench somewhere.
With Jordan Rhodes, Teemu Pukki and Dennis Srbeny looking like the forward options for Daniel Farke next season, I do wonder if an 18 year old striker is going to get much game time here, especially with Rhodes and Pukki obviously ahead of him in the pecking order.
As I say, Klopp will want his loanees to play regularly so I’m not getting too excited by this yet.
One for the “wait and see” pile.
