They well be the defining sound of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, but for many they are nothing more than an annoying drone, ruining the atmosphere of games.

We are talking of course of the dreaded vuvuzela, South Africa’s most debated export since the majority of the England cricket team.

In the Premier League Arsenal, Birmingham, West Ham and Tottenham have already banned them from their grounds and Blackpool have denied reports that they were encouraging fans to bring them along to Bloomfield Road.
