Savvy with the news of 10 departures at Carrow Road…

City striker Simeon Jackson is among a number of familiar faces released today by the club, with 10 players in total leaving.

Defenders Marc Tierney and Elliott Ward are leaving along with academy graduates Tom Adeyemi and Korey Smith.

The club have already confirmed that striker Chris Martin will join Derby after making 117 appearances for the club, while youngster George Francomb will not be given a new deal.

Goalkeeper Lee Camp who joined in January, will be allowed to leave, and development squad players Ramil Sheriff and Scott Olumide Durojaiye have also been released.

Canadian international Jackson scored 21 goals in 86 appearances and helped fire the club to promotion from the Championship in 2011, scoring the goal that clinched promotion.

Korey Smith graduated from the club’s academy, racking up 73 appearances and four goals, while defender Ward has made 55 appearances and scored one goal, but he did spend last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

We wish them all well.

  • Sad to see Jacko go as he was a big part of the promotion push from the Championship – however, he’s not been good enough at the highest level which is why his chances have been limited. Korey Smith had promise but doesn’t seem to have progressed sufficiently and as for Ward, his performance against Liverpool at ome last season was the last straw for me. We will be looking to improve our first team and none of those released will do that. I wish them all the best and am sure that there will be no shortage of takers for Jacko especially in the Championship.

  • I note that TWTD are getting very excited about the release of Lee Camp – just about sums them up 😉

  • I will always remember the goal he scored to obtain us promotion – NCFC legend. Good luck Simeon.

  • as we had a link to ‘ typical norwich season ‘ song on u tube I have just spent an hour or so watching and listening to the promotion to prem season on there.
Jacko played brilliantly during the run in.
I still wonder if he was given enough of a chance in prem ?

  • I think Simeon was one of the most enthusiastic players for Norwich but could not match the skills of the best. I wish him well.
