Norwich City have won the race to sign Tottenham’s promising defensive midfielder, Oliver Skipp.
Norwich announced on Monday evening that the 19-year-old has decided to join Norwich after a significant amount of interest in him from elsewhere, including Europe.

Dan Kilpatrick is the Evening Standard’s football correspondent for both Spurs and England.
It seems an obvious fit for the Canaries after last week’s news that promising Chelsea youngster, Ethan Ampadu had chosen to join newly promoted Fulham on loan, rather than Norwich, which is fair enough.
Skipp is a ball playing midfielder who would seem to fit the mould that Daniel Farke would like to have in his team. A product of the Spurs academy, he has represented England at all youth levels up to and including the U21s and he joins Norwich on a season-long loan deal.
I can already hear many of you crying “ANOTHER MIDFIELDER?!!!”
The reality of that is that although City are well stocked with central midfielders on paper, it seems likely that the likes of Tom Trybull and Moritz Leitner will be surplus to requirements and could both move on this summer. Mario Vrancic is another player who may or may not be involved regularly and with Alex Tettey in the final year of his contract, it seems to me that there is space in the first team squad.
Melvin Sitti is an unknown quantity at this level and looks set for a loan deal of his own before the club can decide whether or not he is the man to fill Tettey’s sizeable boots.
Young Master Skipp is a skilled baller and that has to be welcomed.
