Only on Friday were TalkSport reporting that Stoke City striker Mame Diouf was close to a move to Norwich City. Now, on Sunday morning, The Telegraph are reporting that Stoke have turned down a £10m offer for Diouf from abroad and that they expect him to stay at the Britannia for the rest of the season.

No mention of Norwich City but with a price tag of £10m+, I`m not surprised. Patrick Bamford is in the house, so does that mean our striker shopping is now over? We shall see.

On another note, a previous target, Crystal Palace`s Dwight Gayle is widely reported to be the subject of a transfer tug of war between Swansea and Leicester. It`s worth noting though that Alan Pardew has only signed Emmanuel Adebayor as striker cover in this window. The former Arsenal, Man City and Spurs man is going to be something of a gamble and if I was Pardew I`d want to keep hold of Gayle for the time being.
