Norwich City`s search for a striker looks to be nearing it`s end as Dennis Srbeny has flown to Norfolk to complete a move to the Canaries, reports the EDP

The 23 year old is the top scorer in Germany`s Dritta Liga (third tier) and did not train with his SC Paderborn team mates on Wednesday, with his club confirming that a fee, thought to be around £1m, had been agreed with a Championship side.

The EDP say that side is Norwich City.

He`s scored 9 goals in 15 games, also providing 8 assists, having only joined Paderborn last summer.

A move to England`s Championship is going to be a significant step up in class for the young man but clearly, Daniel Farke and Stuart Webber think he`s capable.

The current financial situation means that any outlay, let alone one of seven figures, needs to be carefully weighed up as to it`s prospective benefits to the squad. We have already seen that of last summer`s German recruits, only Marcel Franke has struggled to adapt to the Championship. Indeed, Christoph Zimmermann has proven to be an excellent acquisition, and he was playing in the fourth tier of German football last season.

With Onel Hernandez also expected in Norfolk this week and potentially Moritz Leitner too, the German revolution continues apace.
