Since the sale of Cameron Jerome to Derby County last week, there seems to have been little talk among the Canary faithful other than ‘When are we signing a new striker?’
Certainly on Twitter, there’s plenty of wailing and gnashing of teeth because we haven’t signed one to replace Jerome yet.
A couple of names have surfaced in the last week or so, in the shape of Middlesbrough’s Ashley Fletcher and Le Havre’s Nathael Julan.
Fletcher moved to the Riverside last summer for around £6m, so would almost certainly be only a loan deal, Julan though could be available to buy according to the French press but only if Le Havre can source a replacement first.
Well it looks like they may well have done that according to L’Equipe
I’ve attached a translation for you, it’s dated 23/1/18:
‘The attacker of FC Sochaux Faneva Andriatsima (33 years old) will begin today for eighteen months with the HAC. In this operation, the club goals will recover some ?400,000 (of which ?150,000 bonus).’
Slightly odd that they’re replacing a 21 year old with a 33 year old but hey, I guess they know their business.
You may have read this report last weekend, also in L’Equipe
Here’s a handy translation for you:
‘Despite his five goals in 16 appearances in all competitions this season, Nathael Julan (21 years) seems pushed out by Le Havre. The club thus negotiates the transfer of its young striker with Norwich City (Championship). Other french and foreign clubs would be however also interested with the player trained by the HAC.’
With Le Havre seemingly about to sign Andriatsima, could Julan be on his way to Norwich? With only a week to go till the transfer window closes, we’ll know soon enough.
